Summer Course 2013 – Arts Economies

Following up on the Leuphana workshop around art audience research in January, I would love to get an SAIC summer course running this July/August (2W6). It’s on the books as “Arts Economies”. Here’s an abbreviated description:

There is an opportunity to run this course as a project. We have been invited by the Evanston Art Center to conceptualize and conduct an experimental visual arts survey and outreach project. This follows on the heels of a recent traditional city-based survey, which was modeled after the Chicago Cultural Plan. Class participants will critically assess cultural and community metrics and explore a range of factors shaping art economies on the periphery of Chicago. Additionally, an aspect of this project is the opportunity to create a related gallery project from September-October that represents your work, the Art Center, and the Evanston community.

Do contact me if you are interested.

Artist, professor [Arts Administration and Policy] at SAIC.
